Starball Setup
The Starball Golf Putting Cup is the most unique golf putting cup available due to the energy absorbing Starball mounted in the center of the cup. (Fig 1). A golf ball hit hard stays in the hole because the Starball absorbs the golf ball’s energy as hit hits the flag. A ball hit softly will go in because of the low rim profile (9/64”), (Fig 2). This concept enables the Starball to be a very accurate putting cup simulator. The Starball is designed so that a golf ball hit too hard will lip out or roll out, similar to putting on a golf green.
Assembly:
1. Unpack the putting cup and the Starball. The 12” white flag is packed separately.
2. SAVE THE PACKAGING. The Starball should be protected at all times to prevent damage.
3. Push the flagpole through the hole in the center of the Starball core until it passes through the core and past the bottom of the tentacles (Fig 3).
4. Insert the flagpole into the center of the putting cup.
5. Push the Starball down the flagpole until the core of the ball just touches the top of the center cone without bending the tentacles. Tentacles will be 3/8” away from the bottom of the center of the cup.
6. For professional set up, lay a pencil across the top of the cup so that it rests on both sides of the cup. Push the Starball down until it just touches the top of the pencil (Fig 4). You can estimate this if you do not have a pencil.
7. You can fine tune the adjustment by raising or lowering the Starball relative to the skill level you want to achieve.
8. The above method works well for the turf height of the Putts Perfect™ game.
